The Early Years
The Lexus RC is a two-door sport coupe, with design and performance inspiration taken from Lexus’ impressive motorsports history. The RC in the name stands for Radical Coupe, and the vehicle represents the coupe model of the Lexus IS line. It was first introduced in 2013 at the Tokyo Motor Show, and sales began the following year in Japan.
This Lexus coupe was designed to be sporty and fun to drive, and it was initially available with three unique engine options. In 2018, it underwent significant design changes and was reintroduced at the Paris Motor Show with high-tech features like standard Amazon Alexa. In the United States, drivers had the option of the Lexus RC 300 or Lexus RC 350, available as rear-wheel drive or all-wheel drive.
The Final Models
The final edition of the Lexus RC will be available in 2025, as Lexus begins to shift focus toward larger SUVs and crossovers and the electric and hybrid market. It will have an exclusive final edition model, however.
